This article was previously published under Q278227 SYMPTOMS
In the Microsoft Office XP Custom Installation Wizard, you use the system
variable %USERNAME% for the name of the profile. When you complete
Setup and run Outlook for the first time, the name of your Outlook profile is the word %USERNAME% instead of your currently logged in user name.
RESOLUTION
Do not use system variables for the profile name. Instead use names such as
"Microsoft Outlook" or "MS Exchange Settings".
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
