OL2002: Creating Task by Moving Message as an Attachment but Not Saving It Deletes the Message (278208)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the right mouse button to drag an e-mail message to the Tasks folder or the Tasks shortcut and then select Move here as attachment, closing the newly-created task item without saving it deletes the e-mail message.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because you moved (not copied) the message to the Tasks folder, and you then deleted the object that you attached the message to in the Tasks folder.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, either retrieve the message from the Deleted Items folder manually or use the Undo Delete command from the Edit menu to restore the deleted item.
