OL2002: Outlook Hangs After You Click 'My Network Places' on Windows Me-Based Computer (278126)

When you install Windows Millennium Edition (Me) and Outlook 2002, start Outlook for the first time, and then click My Network Places, Outlook may stop responding (hang).
This occurs when the computer's hard disk has file allocation table (FAT) partitions.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because you need to run the Home Networking Wizard to install My Network Places in Outlook's FAT module.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, run the Home Networking Wizard to install My Network Places, and then start Outlook. To start the Home Networking Wizard, click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, and then click Home Networking Wizard.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
