OL2002: Questions Marks Appear for Unicode Text in Outlook 2002 Expedia Map Feature (278106)

SYMPTOMS

When you type an address that contains Unicode text in the Address box of a contact, and you then click the Expedia Display Map of Address toolbar icon, the address appears as question marks instead of Unicode characters.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because Expedia currently supports only Single Byte Code Page-driven languages (0-255 characters).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
