PRB: BizTalk Server Setup Reports Ambiguous Error (277969)

SYMPTOMS

At the BizTalk Server Setup "Configure BizTalk Orchestration database" screen, after you input your SQL server information and select Select an existing database, you may receive the following error message:
" [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]cannot open the database requested in login'XLANG'. "

CAUSE

This error is displayed because the database that you have indicated that setup should use does not exist or has been modified or used by another process.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, make sure that the database that you wish to use exists and that the database has not been modified or used by any other setup process or application.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000.
