XCCC: The "Record" Button Is Unavailable If You Use Word to Edit Messages (277748)

After you successfully install Microsoft Exchange Multimedia Control, if you create a new message in Outlook 2000, the Record button may be unavailable on the toolbar.
Exchange 2000 Server provides support for enhancing messages with multimedia. After you install Exchange Multimedia Control, you can use Outlook 2000 and Exchange 2000 Outlook Web Access (OWA) to integrate audio and video content into messages.
To turn on this feature in Outlook 2000, download and install the Exchange Multimedia Control from the following location (where Exchange_server is the name of the Exchange 2000 server):
http://Exchange_server/exchweb/bin/emsetup.asp
CAUSE
This issue may occur if Microsoft Word is set as the e-mail editor in Outlook 2000.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, configure Outlook 2000 not to use Word as the e-mail editor:
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Mail Format tab, and then click to clear the Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages check box.
- Click OK.
