XCLN: Encrypted Message Missing Body Text When Received on Wireless Phone (277680)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Mobile Information 2001 Server
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q277680 SYMPTOMS
When a Microsoft Outlook user sends a message to a user who receives messages with a wireless phone, the body text of the message may be missing. There is no indication that the body text is missing or explanation for why the body text is missing.
CAUSE
This problem can occur because at this time, wireless phones cannot read encrypted messages. When a user attempts to read an encrypted message on a wireless phone, only the header information is received. The body text is not displayed.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, either the recipient must use a client other than a wireless phone to view the message, or the sender of the message must resend the message without encryption.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
