XL2002: Delete Watch Button Is Available Even Though No Listed Cells Are Selected (277592)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel, when you use the Watch Window toolbar to monitor cells in a worksheet, the Delete Watch button may unexpectedly be available (not dimmed) even though none of the listed cells on the Watch Window toolbar are selected.

However, if you click the Delete Watch button, one of the listed cells is deleted from the list.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

To see an example of this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Select a range of cells in a worksheet.
  2. Click Add Watch on the Watch Window toolbar.
  3. Select one of the items listed on the Watch Window toolbar.

    Notice that the Delete Watch button is now available (not dimmed).
  4. Click Add Watch on the Watch Window toolbar, and then click Cancel.

    Notice that the Delete Watch button is still available, even though none of the listed cells on the Watch Window toolbar are selected.
