SUMMARY

Site Server 3.0 Commerce Edition does not have an out of the box method for selling fractional units of products. To accommodate this functionality it is necessary to determine the lowest common denominator for the fractional amount offered for sale and make this a standard unit.

For example, if you sell fabric in increments of 1/8th yard, change the unit accounting to make 1/8th yard the standard unit of inventory and then modify the Active Server Page logic so that if a customer buys 1/8th yard, they are really buying 1 unit, or if they buy 5 yards, they are really buying 40 units.
