SYMPTOMS

The print management window that displays the print jobs for a specific printer does not display the number of pages that an MS-DOS-based program is printing in the Pages column.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because print jobs from MS-DOS-based programs are routed directly to the port.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

Your MS-DOS program may or may not provide information about how many pages the MS-DOS program is printing. To find out if your program provides this information, read the documentation that was provided with your program or contact the manufacturer.

MS-DOS programs include built-in MS-DOS print drivers for every printer that the program supports. This is one of the major advantages of using a Windows program.
