PRB: BizTalk Messaging Manager: Users Cannot Set Encryption Properties for Transports Using SMIME (276771)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000
This article was previously published under Q276771 SYMPTOMS
BizTalk Server Messaging Manager allows users to choose SMIME (Secure Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) encryption when they are creating a port. However, the user cannot adjust the SMIME encryption parameters needed to change the encryption strength from 40-bit to 128-bit encryption.
CAUSE
BizTalk Messaging allows users to set Advanced parameters by using property pages that are configurable in the Channel Advanced properties sheet. However, there are no property pages available for SMIME encryption.
RESOLUTION
The only method of adjusting the properties that are used by BizTalk Server for SMIME encryption is through BizTalk Server Configuration Object Model.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000. REFERENCESFor additional information on changing the BizTalk Server default setting for signatures and encryption, click the article number below
