Custom Attributes Display Name Is Not Required to be Unique (276305)

SUMMARY

When you create a new custom attribute from the Profile Editor in Business Desk, the display name is not required to be unique.

Step to Reproduce this Behavior:
  1. Start Business Desk from the Start menu or from the desktop.

    Click Users, and then click Profile Designer.

    Select User object, and then click Open.

    Double-click to expand General Information, and then click Add.

    Click Add a new property, and then click OK.

    Click to expand Custom Attributes, and then click New.

    Enter the values for Name and Display Name, and then click Accept.

    Click New, enter a unique value for Name, and then enter the same value (from step 7) for the Display Name.

    Click Accept, click Apply, and then click Save.
  2. Click Users, and then click Profile Designer.

    Select User object, and then click Open.

    Double-click to expand General Information, and then click Add.

    Click Add a new property, and then click OK.

    Click to expand Custom Attributes, and then click New.

    Enter the values for Name and Display Name, and then click Accept.

    Click New, enter a unique value for Name, and then enter the same value (from step 7) for the Display Name.

    Click Accept, click Apply, and then click Save.
  3. Select User object, and then click Open.

    Double-click to expand General Information, and then click Add.

    Click Add a new property, and then click OK.

    Click to expand Custom Attributes, and then click New.

    Enter the values for Name and Display Name, and then click Accept.

  4. Double-click to expand General Information, and then click Add.

    Click Accept, click Apply, and then click Save.
  5. Click Add a new property, and then click OK.

  7. Enter the values for Name and Display Name, and then click Accept.

    Click New, enter a unique value for Name, and then enter the same value (from step 7) for the Display Name.

    Click Accept, click Apply, and then click Save.
  8. Click New, enter a unique value for Name, and then enter the same value (from step 7) for the Display Name.

    Click Accept, click Apply, and then click Save.
  9. Click Accept, click Apply, and then click Save.
Results: No error messages occur, and two attributes are displayed with the same Display Name.
