Windows Media Player library entries are stored in a database file named Wmplibrary_v_0_12.dbxxx.db. To remove a file, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Search or Find, and then click For Files or Folders.
  2. In the Search for files or folders named box, type wmplibrary*.db. Verify that the Look in box specifies local hard drives.
  3. Click Search Now.
  4. Right-click the file that you want to remove and click Rename.
  5. Rename the file using a .bd extension.
When you restart Windows Media Player, there are no longer any files in the Windows Media Player library.
