Kodak DC-210 Plus Image File Numbers Are Duplicated for Each Download (276241)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional
- Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
This article was previously published under Q276241 SYMPTOMS
When you click the Camera icon in Windows Explorer, and then click Get Pictures to download pictures from the Kodak DC-210 Plus camera into the My Pictures folder, the camera always uses the same set of numbers to identify the current pictures. To transfer pictures to the My Pictures folder, you must rename the pictures that are already there or transfer those pictures to a different folder.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, use the Scanner and Camera Wizard to download pictures instead of Windows Explorer.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
The camera driver assigns each picture a unique number, such as P000001.jpg, or P000002.jpg. The driver does not retain the last used number and the driver renumbers every series of pictures by using the same numbering scheme.
