Works 6: ERR Is Displayed When You Use the NA() Function (276034)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works 6
- Microsoft Works Suite 2001
This article was previously published under Q276034 SYMPTOMS
When you open a Microsoft Works Spreadsheet or a Microsoft Works Database file that contains the NA() function in a formula, ERR may be displayed instead of the expected value.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you refer to a cell that is blank or contains a zero (0) value.
For example, if cell A1 in the following formula is blank or contains a zero value, ERR is displayed in cell B1:
B1=IF(A1=0, NA(), A1)
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, save the file as a Works 4.x or Works 2000 file:
- On the File menu, click Save as.
- In the Save as type box, click Works 4.x/2000 (*.wks).
- Type a name for the file, and then click Save.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
