The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word 2002

This article was previously published under Q275989

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Word, when you select All styles in the Show list box in the Styles and Formatting pane, all of the formatting styles may not be visible as expected.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur after you customize the Styles to be visible list in the Format Settings dialog box. In that case, only those formatting styles with a selected check box are visible when you select All styles in the Show list box.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. In Word, on the Format menu, click Styles and Formatting.
  2. Near the bottom of the Styles and Formatting pane, click the Show box, and then click Custom.
  3. In the Format Settings dialog box, in the Styles to be visible list, click to select the check boxes of any styles that you want to be visible, and then click OK.

TIP: If you want all of the formatting styles to be visible, click Show All.
