WD98: Next Page Section Break Changes to Odd Page Section Break (275352)

SYMPTOMS

When you insert Next Page section breaks in a Microsoft Word document, and then change the format of the document, the first section break changes from Next Page to Odd Page.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, change the Odd Page section break back to Next Page. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click anywhere in the section that you want to change.
  2. On the Format menu, click Document, and then click the Layout tab.
  3. In the Section start box, click New Page, and then click OK.

RESOLUTION

This problem was fixed in Microsoft Word 2001 for Mac.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

  1. On the Help menu, click Contents and Index. If you are using a version of the Macintosh operating system that is earlier than 8.0, click Contents and Index on the Balloon Help menu.
  2. In MS Word Help, click Index, and then type the following text:

  3. Click Show Topics. Click the types of section breaks topic, and then click Go To.
