RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use the following methods in the order in which they are presented.
Check Speakers Connections and Volume
Make sure that you connect your speakers correctly to your computer and turn up the volume on the speakers and in Microsoft Windows.
Configure the Sound Settings in the Game
To configure the sound settings in the game:
- On the Crimson Skies startup screen, click Preferences.
- Click Audio.
- Click to select the In-Game Music check box.
- Move each of the following volume sliders to the level that you want:
- Effects Volume
- Music Volume
- Voice Volume
- In the Sound Quality box, click Low.
- Click Accept Changes, and then click Return To Main Menu.
Verify That the ADPCM Codec Is Installed Correctly
To verify that the ADPCM codec is installed correctly, follow these steps:
- Insert the Microsoft Windows installation CD-ROM into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Click the Windows Setup tab.
- In the Components box, click Multimedia, and then click Details.
- In the Component box, verify that the check box next to Audio Compression is selected.
- Click OK, and then click OK again.
- Close Control Panel.

Update the Sound Driver for Your Sound Card
To update your sound driver, contact the manufacturer of your sound card to inquire about how to obtain and install the latest version of the sound driver for your sound card.
