Importing Web Parts into SharePoint Portal Server Dashboard May Not Work if Proxy Is Set to Auto-detect (274662)

If the proxy server settings in Microsoft Internet Explorer are set to automatically detect settings, attempts to import a Web part may not work and you receive the following error message:
Page cannot be displayed
RESOLUTION
If this error occurs, you must manually configure your proxy settings. To change your proxy settings:
- In Internet Explorer, click Internet Options on the Tools menu.
- Click the Connections tab, and then click the LAN Settings button.
- Click to clear the Automatically detect settings check box.
- If you are not using a proxy server, you can leave all the check boxes cleared. If you are using a proxy server, click to select the Use a proxy server check box, and then configure your proxy server's name and port.
