XCCC: Changing the Logging Location for the Exchange Conferencing Service (274518)

Administrators can configure the Exchange Conferencing Service to log specific events that occur during an active conference. The default logging location is defined as a shared folder in the following format: To change this logging location, simply remove sharing from the current logging folder and then create a shared folder in a new location as follows:

1. In Windows Explorer, locate the X:\Program Files\Microsoft Exchange Conferencing Server folder.
2. Click the machine_name.ecs folder.
3. Right-click the machine_name.ecs folder, and then click Sharing.
4. Click Do not share this folder, and then click OK.
5. Either click another folder to hold the Exchange Conferencing Service log files, or create a new folder to hold the Exchange Conferencing Service log files, and then click that folder.
6. Right-click that folder, and then click Sharing.
7. Click Share this folder.
8. In the Share name box, type machine_name.ecs, and then click OK.
   
   NOTE: Give this share the following permissions:

   Share Level:
   Administrators - Full Control
   Everyone - Read
   
   NTFS Level:
   Administrators - Full Control
   Authenticated Users - Read and Execute, List, Read
   Server Operators - Modify, Read and Execute, List, Read, Write

9. Restart the Exchange Conferencing Service for the changes to take effect. You can restart the Exchange Conferencing Service by using the Services tool; click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services. After you start Services, restart the following services:
   • Microsoft Exchange Conferencing
   • Microsoft Exchange T.120 MCU
   • Microsoft Exchange H.323 Bridge
