Windows Millennium Edition Tours and Tutorials May Open a Text Document (274476)

SYMPTOMS

When you start the Windows Millennium Edition (Me) Preview tour or one of the other tours or tutorials that are located in Windows Help, a text document may open instead of the tour or tutorial.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when .hta files have been associated with Notepad, WordPad, Microsoft Word, or some other text editor.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem:
  1. Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
  3. In the Folder Options dialog box, click the File Types tab.
  4. Click hta in the File Types box, click Restore, and then click Close.
