SYMPTOMS

When you open the Game Controllers tool in Control Panel, the Microsoft SideWinder Strategic Commander does not appear in the list of installed game controllers.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design.

To start the SideWinder Strategic Commander software, click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Hardware, point to Sidewinder Strategic Commander, and then click Strategic Commander.
