In Windows NT 4.0 and later, the restrictions that are placed on the Fonts folder change. These changes affect the number of fonts that you can install on either a workstation or server, and the sizes of the fonts that you can load.

In Windows NT 4.0 and later, the Fonts folder is limited in size to 48 Megabytes (MB).
When you install Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5 (SP5) or Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 (SP6), the limit on the Fonts folder increases to 128 MB.
In Windows 2000, there is no restriction on the size of the Fonts folder.
