When you use a Microsoft Access database file that contains macros in Microsoft Word, Word does not display the macro virus warning message. This problem can occur in either of the following situations:
- When you use the Access database file in a Word mail merge.
-or- - When you insert the database in your Microsoft Word document.

To install the Word Mail Merge Security Update, follow these steps:
- Download the Wrdacc.exe file from the following Microsoft Web site:
- After you have downloaded the updated security patch, double-click the Wrdacc.exe file to start the installation program. Click Yes to the following message:
This program will install the Word Mail Merge Security Update. Do you want to continue?
- Click Yes to accept the License Agreement.
- After the update is installed, click OK to the following message:
The update was applied successfully.
NOTE: If you attempt to install this update on a system that already is updated, you receive the following message:
This update has already been installed.
How to Determine Whether the Update Is Installed
The update affects the file Winword.exe and updates the version of Microsoft Word 2000 to version 9.0.5302. To verify that you have the update, follow these steps:
- Locate the Winword.exe file and right-click the file.
- Select Properties on the shortcut menu.
- In the Properties dialog box, click the Version tab.
- Click Product Version. The product version should be 9.0.5302.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
