You can use Microsoft Outlook 2000 or later versions to reserve a resource when you create an online meeting. You can invite a resource when you use an earlier version of Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA), or a third-party e-mail client.

To grant users permissions to reserve a virtual conference room:
  1. Start Outlook 2000, and then open the Resource mailbox.
  2. Click Options on the Tools menu, click the Preference tab, and then click Calendar Options.
  3. Click Resource Scheduling, and then click Set Permissions.
  4. Click the Permissions tab, click Add, click the user or group that you want to grant permissions to, and then grant this user or group Author permissions.
  5. Click the Default group, and then grant it None permissions.
  6. Click OK until you exit the Options dialog box.
To grant users permissions to invite virtual conferencing resources:
  1. Start the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in.
  2. Browse to Microsoft Exchange System Objects.

    NOTE: If this container is not displayed, click the Domain object, click Options on the View menu, and then click Advanced Features.
  3. In the Details pane, right-click the conferencing resource that you want to configure, and then click Properties.
  4. Click the Exchange General tab, and then click Delivery Restrictions.
  5. Grant the appropriate permissions in the Message Restrictions section.
  6. Click OK, and then click OK.
