When you attempt to open or copy a file that is located in a folder that is eight or more levels "down" from the root folder on a CD-ROM, Windows may be unable to open or copy the file and you may receive an error message from the program that is attempting to open or copy the file.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the total path length, including the file name, exceeds 80 characters.
RESOLUTIONA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes.
