Commerce Server Manager Allows Invalid Values (274135)

SYMPTOMS

The Commerce Server Manager does not validate properties in resources. As a result, you can enter invalid values for particular properties. If an administrator chooses invalid values, run-time errors may occur.

For example, if you change the Log Folder Path property of the Direct Mail Global Resource to an invalid path, the Commerce Server Manager does not prompt you for a valid path.

RESOLUTION

To validate property values on custom resources, you must write a custom extension snap-in. For more information, see the "Commerce Server Manager NodeType GUIDs" topic in the Commerce Server documentation.
