WD2002: Envelope Is Printed Upside Down, on Wrong Side, or with Truncated Text (274006)

SYMPTOMS
When you print to an envelope, you may experience one or more of the following problems:
- Word may not print the envelope in the correct orientation.
-or- - Word may not print entirely on the envelope.
-or- - Word may not print on the correct side of the envelope.
-or- - Word may print the envelope upside down (180-degree rotation).
These problems may be experienced when you use the envelope feature, or when you use the Envelope Wizard. NOTE: To use the envelope feature, point to Letters and Mailings on the Tools menu, and then click Envelopes and Labels. To use the Envelope Wizard, click New on the File menu. Under New from template, click General Templates, and then click Envelope Wizard on the Letters & Faxes tab.
CAUSE
The feed method in Microsoft Word is incorrectly set for your printer.
WORKAROUND
To change the feed method, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, point to Letters and Mailings, and then click Envelopes and Labels.
- On the Envelopes tab, click Options.
- On the Printing Options tab, change the Feed method to the correct orientation and position, based on the information included with your printer, and then click OK.
NOTE: Most printers pictorially indicate how to insert an envelope in the printer. Word should be set to match this illustration. If your printer does not pictorially indicate how to insert an envelope, refer to the user's manual included with your printer.
