SUMMARY

When you install Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook Express may automatically be upgraded to Internet Explorer version 5.01 SP1 and Outlook Express version 5.5. There is no option to disable these updates.

Windows 2000 SP1 Setup automatically performs a full installation of Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 and Outlook Express 5.5. If you install Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 in a version of Windows 2000 that does not include SP1, Outlook Express 5.5 is installed by default.
