Crimson Skies: Cannot Start Game (273923)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start Microsoft Crimson Skies, the program may not start.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your computer is configured to use 32-bit colors or 256 colors.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, configure the display settings on your computer to use the 800 by 600 pixels and the High Color (16 bit) settings:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display.
  3. Click the Settings tab. Write down your Colors and Screen area settings.
  4. Under Colors, click High Color (16 bit).
  5. Under Screen area, move the Screen area slider to the 800 by 600 pixels position.
  6. Click OK.
  7. If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
