When you send e-mail with Outlook Express, you may receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If you click Details, you may receive the following error message:
Wnmsgupdt caused an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you configure Outlook Express to use the ATT WorldNet Software Dial-Up Networking connector to connect to the ATT Internet service provider (ISP) service.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior configure Outlook Express to use a local area network (LAN) connection instead of using the ATT connector that is included with the ATT software.
To do this, either establish the connection to ATT before you start Outlook Express or create a new Dial Up Networking connector for the ATT service, and then configure Outlook Express to use that connector.
For information about how to create an ATT connector, view the following Wurd Web site:
To create a new Dial Up Networking connector for the ATT service: - Start Outlook Express, and then click Accounts on the Tools menu.
- Click the Mail tab, click ATT mail account, and then click Properties.
- Click the Connection tab, click the connection that you want from the box, and then click OK.
