Follow these steps to check the version of your program:

Quit any open program.
Open the Microsoft Office 98 folder from your hard disk drive.
On the File menu, click the program icon to select it.
Click Get Info, and then click General Information on the submenu.
A dialog box with the application information appears. The version number appears near the bottom.
