PPT2001: Custom Animations Are Changed When Presentation Is Saved as Movie (273705)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a movie in Microsoft PowerPoint and insert custom animations, the animations may not correspond to your customized animation settings.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because not all animations available in PowerPoint are supported by QuickTime. The unsupported custom animations are replaced with the Fly In From Left animation when the movie is made.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use the following custom animations, which are supported in the PowerPoint Movie format:
  • Crawl In
  • Crawl Out
  • Fly In
  • Fly Out
  • Spiral

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
