MacPPT: Can't Select One Object for Animation When All Objects Are Selected (273704)

When you have all objects on a slide selected in the Custom Animation dialog box, you may not be able to click just one of the objects.
CAUSE
When all objects in a slide are selected in the Custom Animation dialog box, clicking an individual object in a group of selected objects has no effect.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue and select just one of the objects on the slide to animate, follow the steps appropriate to the version of PowerPoint that you are using.
PowerPoint 98- Click Animation Order.
- Press the UP ARROW key.
PowerPoint 2001 for Mac- Press the UP ARROW key.
NOTE: If five or fewer objects are selected in the Custom Animation dialog box, you can click anywhere in the white space of the Select to animate or Animation Order box and clear (deselect) all the objects. When all of the objects are cleared, you can then select an individual object.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
