SYMPTOMS

When you view a Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Mac Web presentation in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, the text in the presentation may appear smaller or larger than expected.

CAUSE

This Internet Explorer 5.0-based behavior can occur if the target monitor screen-size setting is not the same as the monitor resolution on which you are viewing the Web presentation.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. In Internet Explorer 5.0, open the Web presentation.
  2. To increase the font size, use the COMMAND+PLUS SIGN key combination.
  3. To decrease the font size, use the COMMAND+MINUS SIGN key combination.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

The target monitor screen-size setting can be found in the Web Options dialog box. To change the target screen size for a Web presentation, follow these steps:
  1. On the Edit menu, click Preferences.
  2. Click the General tab, and then click Web Options.
  3. In the Web Options dialog box, click the Pictures tab.
  4. Under Target monitor, select a screen size on the Screen size pop-up menu.
