PPT2001: MP3 Files May Not Insert or Play on Mac OS 8.1 (273699)

When you attempt to insert an MP3 file into a presentation, the file may not be inserted, or may not play after being inserted.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when you do not have QuickTime 3.0 or later, or Mac OS 8.5 or later installed. QuickTime 3.0 or later is required to play MP3 files from within PowerPoint.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use any of the following methods:
- Upgrade your version of QuickTime to version 3.0 or later.
- Upgrade your version of Mac OS to Mac OS 8.5 or later.
- Convert the MP3 files into .wav or .avi files before you insert them into PowerPoint.
