SYMPTOMS

When you use one of the Microsoft IntelliMouse pointing devices listed in the "Applies to" section with a Macintosh computer, the computer may wake from sleep mode if you move the IntelliMouse pointing device.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you connect the pointing device to a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port that is built in to the monitor.

Some monitors that are not manufactured by Apple recognize pointing device movement as user interaction and wake the computer from sleep mode.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, disconnect the pointing device from the monitor and connect it directly to the computer.
