SUMMARY

The Microsoft Management Console (MMC) tool hosts administrative tools that you can use in the administration of networks, computers, services, and other system components. The MMC can be installed on a Windows 95 or Windows 98 computer by running Immc.exe.

The Windows 2000 Administration MMC snap-ins, which are installed by running Adminpak.msi, are not intended to be run from a Windows 95 or Windows 98 computer, and will not function with a Windows 95 or Windows 98 computer.

If you have to administer a Windows 2000 domain from a Windows 95 or Windows 98 client, the only solution is to enable Terminal Services on a Windows 2000 server, and then run Terminal Services from the Windows 95 or Windows 98 computer. By connecting to the Windows 2000 server, you will have access to all of the Windows 2000 Administration tools.
