SYMPTOMS The Customize Outlook Today feature does not customize
after you install the MSNBC Personal Update. CAUSE This is a design feature of the MSNBC Personal Update
installation. This behavior occurs because the MSNBC Personal Update changes
the default home page for Outlook Today from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office\1033\Outlwvw.dll/Outlook.htm folder to the C:\Program
Files\MSNBC\Outlook\Client\Default.htm folder. RESOLUTION The MSNBC Personal Update is designed by MSNBC and is not a
supported modification for Outlook. To resolve this behavior, remove the MSNBC
Personal Update with the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel. Your
Outlook Today page returns to normal function after you remove the MSNBC
Personal Update. WORKAROUNDWARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry
Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk. Modifications to the design of the Outlook Today
page are not recommended. You can modify the registry value for the number of
Calendar days displayed. How to Manually Change the Calendar Display for Outlook Today You can display between 1 and 30 days of Calendar appointments in
Outlook Today with this update. To modify the Outlook Today page:
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit.exe, and then click OK.
- Locate and click the following registry key, and then click
the Today registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Today - In the Contents pane, double-click CalDays.
- In the Value data box, type in the number
of calendar days that you want to display in the Outlook Today view, and then
click OK.
- On the Registry menu, click Exit.
