SUMMARY

You need to install the current version of the MSDN Library when installing any of the Visual Studio Product family because the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Library contains the Help and Reference files for Visual Studio 6.0 products. Without these files installed there is no Help system available in the Visual Studio 6.0 products.

Microsoft recommends that you always use the most recent version of these files to maintain current methods and correct use of code.

The Microsoft Developer Network Library - Visual Studio 6.0a edition is included in the Visual Studio 6.0 products and the Quarterly updates are available from the MSDN page on the following Microsoft Web site:

MORE INFORMATION

Other products refer to the supporting documentation or Help files as Books Online or References. The Visual Studio 6.0 product Help files are contained in the Microsoft Developer Network Library files.
