SUMMARY

This article explains how to reset the information that is contained in the Terminal Services Licensing tool. This tool requires that all installed license packs be reinstalled.

To reset information that is contained in the Terminal Services Licensing tool, follow these steps:
  1. Quit the Terminal Services Licensing tool.
  2. Stop the Terminal Services Licensing Service.
  3. Rename the LServer folder in Winnt\System32 to LServerold.
  4. Create a new folder named LServer in Winnt\System32.
  5. Start the Terminal Services Licensing service.
  6. The license key packs may now be reinstalled. The Licensing Clearinghouse may need to be contacted to get the key packs reissued. Check the system log for the following events:
