XADM: Error With Jcb.dll While Running Eseutil (273087)

SYMPTOMS

When you are running Eseutil, you may receive the following error message:

Callback DLL not found
Unable to find the callback library jcb.dll (or one of its dependencies). Copy in the file and hit OK to retry, or hit Cancel to abort.

CAUSE

The Jcb.dll file is located by default in the Exchsrvr\Bin folder and is used as a callback library for Eseutil.exe. You receive this error message if the Jcb.dll file is either corrupted, renamed, or missing from the Bin folder.

RESOLUTION

There are two ways to resolve this problem:

Copy the Jcb.dll file into the Exchsrvr\Bin folder. -or-
Cancel out of the operation. Note that if you are trying to cancel the operation, you may have to click the Cancel button many times before the message disappears. This is because you must press Cancel once for every thread that is accessing this code simultaneously. This should average about 12-15 times, but also may vary depending upon your environment.
