Unable to View a Folder on the Start Menu (273008)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to view a folder that is in the Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder, the folder may not be visible on the Start menu.

NOTE: This problem may still occur even if you have previously configured your folder options to show hidden folders.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the folder you are trying to view has the hidden attribute.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, remove the hidden attribute from the folder you are trying to view. To do so, right-click the folder, click Properties, click to clear the Hidden check box, and then click OK.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
