OL2000: An Error Occurs When You Use a Slash Mark Symbol in a Folder Name (272915)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q272915 SYMPTOMS
When you open a hyperlink to an Outlook folder that contains a slash mark (/) in the folder name, you may receive the following error message:
Unable to display the selected folder or item. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the slash mark is interpreted as a folder delineation and not as part of the folder name.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, type %2f to replace the slash mark in the Outlook hyperlink. This allows the slash mark to be recognized as a true slash mark in the folder name. Note that this may not resolve the behavior if you are using a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) mail format in Outlook.
