XL2001: Hyperlink to Different Sheet in the Same Workbook Does Not Work When Saved as Web Page (272890)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a workbook with hyperlinks from one worksheet location to a cell on a different worksheet in the same workbook, the hyperlinks work as expected when you click them. However, if you save the workbook as a web page, and then open the web page in your browser, the hyperlinks in the HTML document may fail to work.

CAUSE

The hyperlink information is not correctly written into the web page file.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac.

  1. On the Help menu, click Contents and Index, click Index, and then click H.
  2. Scroll down until you locate hyperlink, and then click the arrow to the left to view a list of topics under the general topic.
  3. Click Create a hyperlink.
