XL2001: Last Data Entry Is Undone When You Undo List Wizard Created by Autodetect (272872)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac
This article was previously published under Q272872 SYMPTOMS
When you type data in a Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac workbook, the program may automatically detect that you are managing a list and ask you if you want to convert the data to a list object. If you decide to convert the data, you can direct Excel to create the list object. However, if you attempt to undo the conversion and, therefore, click Undo List Wizard on the Edit menu (or COMMAND+Z), your last data entry is unexpectedly lost when the list reverts to a range.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, convert the list to a range instead of undoing the conversion of the range to a list. To do so, follow these steps:
- Select any cell inside the list object.
- On the List toolbar, click List, and then click Convert to Range. Click OK to confirm the conversion.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac.
