The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Macintosh

This article was previously published under Q272779

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation in PowerPoint 2001 for Mac, some objects may appear flipped.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the object was inserted into the presentation in PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition, PowerPoint 2000, or PowerPoint 97 for Windows. In these versions of PowerPoint, if an object is dragged from one side of a slide to the other side of the slide, a property of the object can be changed that is interpreted as the flip property in PowerPoint 2001 for Mac.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue and set the object right-side up, follow these steps:
  1. Open the presentation in PowerPoint 2001 for Mac.
  2. If the Drawing toolbar is not visible, on the View menu, click Toolbars, and then click Drawing.
  3. Select the object that is upside down.
  4. On the Drawing menu, click Draw, click Rotate or Flip, and then click Flip Vertical.
After the object is flipped in PowerPoint 2001 for Mac, it should remain right-side up.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
