SYMPTOMS

When you record a narration for a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, any existing sounds, including the audio from previous narrations and movies, are unexpectedly played back at the same time.

CAUSE

This behavior is caused by the Macintosh hardware and sound drivers, which allow you to record and play back sound at the same time.

RESOLUTION

To record your narration without recording any sound from your presentation, reduce the volume on your speakers to zero.
