SUMMARY

Visual InterDev has not been tested and is not officially supported when you run it in a Terminal Server client session using Terminal Server on Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000. The system requirements for Visual InterDev are Microsoft Windows 95 or later, or Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0 (Service Pack 3 recommended) or later.

MORE INFORMATION

Terminal Server is available on Windows NT 4.0, Terminal Server Edition, as well as Windows 2000 Server and Advanced Server. Terminal Server allows a Windows Server to act as a terminal server for multiple, simultaneous client sessions. Although you can successfully install and run Visual InterDev on a terminal client, the behavior of Visual InterDev is not guaranteed in this environment.

Different problems have been reported in this environment. For example, in Visual InterDev, the debugger may fail when you debug Active Server Pages (ASP) server-side code. Some of the symptoms include:
  • The debugger skips breakpoints.
  • You are unable to see the Mtx.exe, Inetinfo.exe, or Dllhost.exe process in the Processes dialog box.
  • Visual InterDev stops responding (crashes).
