XCCC: Site Conference Calendar or Resource Mailboxes Items Are Not Displayed in Conference Management Server Properties (272635)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server

This article was previously published under Q272635

SYMPTOMS

After you create a Site Conference Calendar mailbox or a resource mailbox for a particular conferencing site, the item is not displayed in the property page of the Conference Management Service (CMS).

CAUSE

If you create a Windows 2000 domain naming context that does not include an extension (for example .com, .mil, or .org) after the domain name, automatic Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) referals, which provide clients and services with the location of Active Directory objects that contain the location of the Site Conference Calendar mailbox and resource mailboxes, are not returned.

NOTE: This issue only pertains to parent/child domain configurations where Exchange Conferencing Server and the associated conferencing objects are installed on the child domain only.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, reinstall the Microsoft Windows 2000 forest or domain and add the appropriate extension.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, install Exchange Conferencing Server and all associated conferencing objects, including the Site Conference Calendar mailbox and other resource mailboxes, on the root domain.
